Organizing isn't always easy. We can be overwhelmed by "stuff." Do you sometimes feel like your possessions possess you, instead of the other way around?
As an experienced therapist, I bring a unique perspective to organizing. I understand that complex emotions and attachments are often involved when someone has trouble taking control of home or office spaces. Consider these situations:
-- Perhaps you have been meaning to de-clutter rooms in your home or office, but felt confused and dispirited whenever you think about starting.
-- Are you preparing to move, and thinking this would be a good time to hold a yard sale or give some things away? It is often very difficult deciding what to keep and what to get rid of.
-- Do you want to re-use or recycle unwanted items instead of add to landfill waste, but don't know where to send them?
-- Do you need a supportive person to help you go through a deceased family member's belongings, consider what each item means to you, and decide what to do with it?
-- Do you recognize that you have hoarding tendencies?
-- Do you fear you'll be judged for having a messy home or office?
If these situations sound familiar, I can help!
I DON'T judge anyone experiencing these things. (After all, I don't have a perfect home or office myself.) I appreciate that we humans have complicated relationships with our possessions. I also just love organizing! What most people experience as drudgery, I find fun and energizing.
I invite you to call me to discuss your organizing or de-cluttering challenges. We'll talk briefly and see if I can be of help.
